Pikes & Verekers Lawyers represented plaintiffs successful in a professional negligence claim against quantity surveyors.  The plaintiffs will recover in excess of 2 million dollars plus interest and costs.

The plaintiffs controlled a fund lending construction finance to a property developer and retained the quantity surveyors to assess and value progress claims.

Expert evidence demonstrated that the value of the work valued by the quantity surveyors had been grossly overstated.

The Court found that the quantity surveyors had a duty of care to the plaintiffs to ensure that the reports were accurate, and that it was solely the plaintiffs reliance on the quantity surveyors' inaccurate reports, that had caused their loss.
