Erin commenced working with Pikes and Verekers Lawyers in 2020 and has worked in a range of practices including Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Property and Commercial, Wills and Probate, and is now working with our Planning and Environment and Local Government team.

Erin’s current practice focuses on planning and local government appeals in the Land and Environment Court (LEC), prosecution of environmental offences in the LEC and Local Court and providing advice to Councils in relation to complex environmental matters.

Experience

  • Appearing in Class 1 Appeals for both local government and private developers.
  • Assisting in Class 4 civil enforcement proceedings particularly relating to non-compliance with Development Control Orders.
  • Assisting and advising Councils in relation to Native Title matters.
  • Appearing in the Federal Court of Australia in relation to Native Title matters.
  • Assisting and advising Councils in relation to matters pursuant to the Companion Animals Act 1998 including prosecution for dog attacks and appeals in relation to dangerous dogs.
  • Assisting and advising Council in relation to matters pursuant to the Roads Act 1993.
  • Reviewing statutory notices and orders under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Local Government Act, Protection of the Environment Operations Act and the Swimming Pools Act.
  • Drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney and Enduring Guardian documents, and acting for executors in probate matters.
  • Assisting in the sale and purchase of residential, commercial and retail property, including strata and community title.
  • Assisting in large-scale off-the-plan projects involving multiple stages.
